Brenda Zhao is excited to work at EQ4 to inspire students to learn and grow! Growing up, she was raised in Belize, the midwest and Northern California, but she most recently moved to Los Angeles County. She earned her bachelor's degree in Clinical Nutrition from UC Davis. While living in Davis, California she was drawn to helping students succeed in various ways, eventually bringing her into the educational field. Brenda tutored at a group home for youth, taught nutrition in an after school program in the greater Sacramento area, and worked at a music school for 5 years as a teacher’s assistant for both elementary and middle school students. She eventually managed the music school's administrative operations where she learned the importance of not only connecting with students but also the parents.

 

Ms. Zhao realized the importance of education from young, since her parents didn’t have the opportunity to complete high school or college. Being the first to graduate from college in her family, she also can relate to students who struggle navigating college applications and FAFSA or anything related to college prep. At EQ4, Brenda wants to encourage students that they can pursue a college education regardless of the obstacles or difficulties!

 

In her free time, Brenda enjoys hiking and playing guitar or just spending time with family.
